😁
I am looking to join cingular after 5 yrs with t-mobile (they are really irritating me). Anyways, I would like to know the requirements for transferring my number. Here is some info: I have a Memphis number from when I first got the phone, but I have since moved to NYC for the last 2yrs. Technically, I am not in the same geographic region as I was when I got the number. Do I have to have my current amount due for t-mobile paid off first? My bill due date is actually today, July 6th. Any other pointers would be helpful! Thanks guys!

you can port to any service you like as long as the service is located where your number is based. example If you wanted to port to verizon, and verizon does not own the towers located in the home area of your local number, you CAN NOT port even if verizon is local to your new area.

Maybeline...

answers that I hope are helpful.

Your Memphis number issue. If you're in NYC, then, at least with VZW, you would NOT be able to port your Memphis #. The number needs to be in the same market as your location. AT least it does with VZW.

Balance on T-Mobile account. As long as the service is still live, there should be no issue. If it's suspended or canceled, there will be an issue.

DO NOT CANCEL your T-Mobile account. The old service provider (OSP) line must be an active line to port. When the port is processed, it will automatically cancel your OSP service.

Hope that helps.
