Anyone claming to be aware of the N95 b4 buying the iPhone is a liar

AvgJoe

I have to believe those who bought the iPhone and consider themselves tech savy were completely blinded by Apple Sauce.

Does anyone who looks at both phones deeply really believe the iPhone is a better value?

No really!

Removeable battery, (Can carry a spare or two)
16.7 Million colors (how many can you see?)
Real working talking GPS (Not Google Maps)
accepts SD cards
Video conferencing
WCDMA
30FPS video
5 MP camera With Auto focus adj F stops
and real flash
NO BRANDING
TV out.
MMS
Smart phone progamable
No contracts
Insureable

All and much more for $100 or less more.

Why anyone would buy an iPhone for $600 is beyong my comprehension. Help me understand.

Not yet. But that is hardly a deal breaker when you consider the rest of the phone. NO itunes needed, Wifi anywhere. Great full function browser portrait and landscape....the list id long on features the iphone will never have,

Sorry I had a real career. Not one with the turnover of a Mc Donalds.

I am just curious as to why those who have the means (or don't) and are technically savy bleeding edge buyers of phones would pass on a phone that has so much more then an iPhone for so little more.

It baffles me. I can only surmise they were not aware of the N95, Their friends all got on the Apple cart and before you knew it $600 was spent for the WOW factor, When they could have had more then just a toy for less then $100 more.

Well, I can give you my answer..

I have followed the N95 from its announcement and I do believe the N95 is a sweet device, has a lot of bells and whistles, and prior to the iPhone I swore by Symbian.

N95 has wifi? got that

N95 has GPS? Well I have that in my car, guess how many times I have wished for or needed it when not in my car..umm, zero.

N95 has 3G? Not in this country..sorry, might as well not even be on the phone if your in the US. Now when they release it with US 3G (rumored to be august) I might pick one up. Will I retire the iPhone? I doubt it, as I have had several 3G phones, and they were so-so. But I might throw it in my bag for tethering.

N95 has 3rd party apps!- Indeed I have installed dozens and do...

Is that it? Its solidly built?

You would give up a 5 MP camera, 30FPS video,Wifi, Removeable battery, Real GPS, unlocked, unbranded phone because the iPhone is solidly built?

Well I asked........

I mean really.

I recently came across the N95 and started laughing out loud at those who spent $600 on an iPhone AND a 2 year contract to boot.

If You bought an iPhone and cannot take it back do your self a favor and do not look at a Nokia N95,

iPod = Chevy
N95 = Ferarri

are you 10 or something? Obviously the iPhone isnt for you. But there is a lot of people out there who are very happy with their iPhone... My mom included. I talked to her about the N95 a few months back and she did not like its bulkiness...

Bulkiness??? Have you had your hands on one???? It is not nearly as bulky as you think, and is very light. It will eat the iPhone for lunch and spit it back out many times over. I have experience with both phones, so I can say that without reservation.

So true. I got the N95 and was going to get the K850 when it comes out (I have the K790a now and had the W810 - all unlocked of course) but after coming back to S60I cant go back to SE again, so I have crossed the K850 off my list.

Everyone has their own preference. If you're in the wireless business, you probably know that by now. The best phone to you may not be the best phone to someone else.

The N95 is a very nice phone, and there's no denying that. It's got a lot of features. That said, it has one major drawback you failed to mention: it is not domestically available through AT&T. I know it can be purchased unlocked, but you can't go into an AT&T store and get it or have it supported. For some people, that is important to them.

I guess I just don't get all the iPhone hate. It's done a great job in driving wireless discussion toward AT&T even if customers take away another phone instead of the iPhone.

Unlocked unsupported phones can take up to a month to be fixed or replaced via warrantly, and you get to pay postage. If its a supported phone its replaced within two days, with the exception of the Iphone. i honestly do not know the turn around time. I personally really like the N75!

Which is not bad considering many will have a back up phone who buy unlocked phones.

I dont know man I dont get it..

WiFi, MMS, Great OS, and ALL the things the iPhone does not have and much more of what it does have for 20% more money.

I don't get it. Really.

The Iphone is not subsidized though! Its no different then buying a phone by itself.

$100 more buya a whole lot more including all the features sorely missing from the iphone.

I have to believe most people are not aware of the n95. I wasn't until I started looking for a phone that could compete with the iPhone and found one that Crushes it.

It depends on how you define better value. The N95 won't pair well with my car and it has a much shorter battery life. To me a phone that wont pair ans sync the addressbook with my car is immediatly disqualified.

The battery life on the N95 is only limited by the number of batteries you carry with you. The iPhone goes dead you had better find some AC. The battery gets used up and you are SOL.

And still, you missed my point. The N95 would be useless for me in my car without a viable bluetooth interface. Nokia has nice phones but their bluetooth implementation is not all that compatible with some cars.

Neither is the iPHONe. In fact the BT implementation of the iPhone is far less then the N95. I am only comparing those two phones.
