Apples Fault, NOT at&t's

I've been reading reviews on the iphone and how people have been complaining about the slow speeds presented by the edge network, when people use their iphones. It is at that point when reviewers, and critics start to blame at&t. However, I do not think this is at&t's fault. at&t does have a 3g network, capable of the fast speeds many people are looking for, however, apple designed there product to use the older, slower network. So people are getting what apple designed their product to use, a slower network, not the choice of at&t though. Apple maybe should of invested in making it a 3g capable product, its not like it wasnt an option. People should realize, it would be just the same had it been given to verizon, and offered on one of thei...

first they do have 3g but not that many places yet. ANd second the phone sucks as a phone. Bad reception and call quality. Again apples fault and its the first phoen ever made by them. Version 2.0 should be better. never buy a 1st generation phone.

I can't say poor coverage is all the phones fault. ATT is just a bad network. For example, some of the same dead spots I had on ATT 6 or 7 years ago are still present today. Coverage pretty much sucks on my iPhone or on my RAZR for this same network. Although ATT's coverage where i live and work is much better than Sprints. I wouldn't consider the RAZR a phone with poor reception.

I don't understand why you wouldn't switch to Verizon since you've had such poor reception with them all these years

Verizon has it's prooblems. Dead spots and more importantly, those horrible unified UI phones. That alone was reason for me to switch from Verizon. Additionally, I travel and need a GSM phone.

The reviews I have read said reception was between fair and good.

Even the review on this site said reception wasn't bad.

A review on a $600 phone should not say anything "wasn;t bad"

Its SHOULD say EXCELLENT reception, Excellent photos, excellent internet capability,

"Fair" and "good" should cost no more the $200!!!

No, that's a horrible analogy! At least a Ferrari is fast! You can't even say that about the iPhone!

YOU CAN"T be comparing an Iphone to a Ferrari in differences to the rest of the field of phones.

A Ferarri does a few things well above most cars. The Iphone does nothing well above most phones.

The iPHone is the very definition of all flash no substance......
