I am a retail sales rep, and one exp. I had was, one of my customers was using the instore phone to call and see if she could get a credit because I wouldnt issue one (1300 minutes of overages) she was disputing the amount of minutes she used. well one customer service rep. stated that she could not help the lady but offered to transfer her to the retention department. she sat on hold for about 10 minutes, when the next rep came on the customer asked "is this the retention department?" and the csr replied " whats that?" obviously that did not help the situation much. I had to then handle another issue and convince the customer to never call customer care again in order to get her to upgrade. I even gave her my cell phone number . and tol...

In AWS we have a retention department but you can only get to it if you are eligible. If you are then the IVR will automaticly route you them. If the cust is not retention or not nearing their contract then Care handles all calls...but that's AWS. Should be fun to see how long the list of new policy changes are once monday hits. There is usually no excuse for overage minutes other than Cloning (not likely) or someone told them they had the wrong number of minutes. Only two issues care can credit. And the second one you only have a limited of time to dispute those.

Well, today is my first day as a Cingular customer and I have already had both bad and good.

Bad 1
Started yesterday with me calling to find out when my back ordered phone would be in stock again. I am put on hold multiple times and finally told that it could be one day it could be three weeks, they didn't have an eta. Hung up and proceeded to call all over to find an agent that had it in my price range.

Good 1
Called back to cancel my order. The lady I talked to this time was astonished that I was told what the above told me. Says that they have over 1400 of them in the warehouse currently. Tells me to hold on. Comes back on the line and proceeds to tell me my order shipped Monday, gives me tracking number. Was very apologetic for h...

I read it all and sounds pretty interesting read....heh. Yeah I've been wanting to go to AT&T or Cingular but I have to wait another 9 months until my contract is up, unless someone out there knows how I can end my contract early without paying $175 or finding someone that will take over my account. So by your experience you think Cingular would be a good choose. I have a friend that has At&t and he get way better signal in builds and even outdoors then I do with Verizon and he gets a lot more minutes with his plan then I do and a lot better features.

Absolutely, yes. Every carrier has there issues and there is no such thing as perfect customer service. This is not the first time in my life I have had to call cs for something more than once. Like I said the good outweighed the bad and all of my problems were solved 🙂

So far the signal is just amazing here. I am coming from Sprint and was a happy customer with them. I am changing because it was getting too expensive (I use mostly daytime minutes) and Cingular has the 1000 anytime for 39.99. Perfect for me - at least for now.

Also - I moved to a new area (about 25 minutes from where I was) in May and have had nothing but issues with Sprint here. I can't walk around my house and talk...have to sit by the window. I sat on the couch ear...
