Changeing plans in a Contract

I work for AWS Care and there is some speculation going on about how customers will be able to change their plan after they switch. Can a Cingular customer change his plan while under contract? Does this cost? Currently an AWS customer can change his plan any time he wishes but must extend his contract to what ever that plan's promos requires. So if he changes his plan and gets a one year plan then he will have to extend his contract so it ends one year from the date of change. How does cingular work?

we are able to change plans without cost, unless it's a promo, in which they might need a contract.

That's what i thought. So our AWS customers won't have a change.

The customer only needs a contract extension if they are changing to another promotional plan AND there is less than one half the original time remaining on that contract.
