A FAN is a foundation account number. Some companies and businesses have worked out agreements with Cingular/att to get discounts on service and equipment. Their employees are entitled to these discounts, and no one else.

If you work for one of these companies, you can have the FAN attached to your account which will give you the discount. You then have to verify your employment with the company. If you do not or cannot, you will not receive the discount.
