I lived there for 6 years. Only problems is along the 5 in Del Mar ( in the valley). Rancho Santa Fe sucks for any carrier and Oside is fine until you get on Camp Pendleton. None of the other carriers are that great except TMobile who use the same towers as ATT. O yeah, at PB, OB or MB none of the carriers except ATT and TMobile work well.

Very true. When I lived there no one was allowed a tower on the base. They could just line the west, east and south ends with towers.

I worked for a really, really, really big soda company(think red) and we had nextels. days on the base were the quietest days. no calls no worrys. vista has good service too as does carlsbad and encinitas. cardiff by the sea can be a little spotty. the coverage in SD in general is really good. in some areas my cingular phone had full bars and the nextel said no service. enjoy SD i still wish i was there.
