use of a phone before returning?
I'm anxious to get one of the new phones coming out. A guy at the local Cingular store said they'll give me three days within purchasing a phone to see if I like it. After three days, I won't be able to return it.
Do mostly all Cingular stores go by this 3-day limit trial?

Don't shop at that store. After the fifteenth of this month all stores are required to accept returns with-in thirty days. You may have to pay a restocking fee depending upon the condition of the phone, but if it is within like-new condition you should have no worries.

It used to be 15 days, and now will switch to 30 days to compare to at&t

15 days is good. 30 days to use a phone is excellent! I wonder why this store told me only 3 days then....3 sucks, really hope they comply and give me 30 days. Thanks again Kip.

A returned phone cannot, by law, be re-sold as new. It has be advertised as 'like new' or refurbished. I also don't think that the original 1 year warranty applies any longer. I could be totally wrong on this, but that is how it was explained to me.
Also, AWS gave the activation fee back if the phone was returned within 30-days or not. I haven't heard of the 3-day rule, so I can't say that it doesn't exist. However, if it's an indirect dealer you are visiting, they often can (and do) make up their own rules regarding purchases of equipment, which is seperate from the rules of service, which would be thru the carrier.
And finally, please remember that just because you get a 'trial' period, you still responsible for ANY minutes you ...
