WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!

All this crap about how good the company is supposed to be now that they bought at&t and how much better it is going to be for the customer and how they are number one... i wonder how many of hundreds possibly 1000's of new activations over the past 2 days of their IDIOT web masters... 41 billion dollars for at&t wireless and they can't even afford to run a web site... how do they expect to compete with Verizon like this... since noone can order from Cingular, I'm sure they can go right over to the Verizon web site and order, or T Mobile or even Sprint... because who ever it is that runs Cingular must not know how important having a good, RUNNING, WORKING website is to business... do they still have the same morons that screwed everything up when they allowed anyone to make a payment for someones account?????

it's just a website. personally, i wouldnt buy a cell phone over the internet, i would go to the store and get it in person, so that i know its a phone i like, and i can get a professional opinion if a phone is good or not. 8 out of 10 times you can find someone locally who will match the internet pricing.

if the only gripe you have is over the website, then A) Cingular is doing a good job integrating things if that's the worst that has happened, and B) you may rely too heavily on the internet for your purchasing.

how about getting out and supporting local businesses instead of forcing your local store to close or relocate. then a year from now when you need a repair or have a question about something and you have to drive 45 mins to g...

yeah, it's more convienient to be able to return a phone to the store if you don't like it. i have been waiting since nov. 1st to be refunded for a phone returned. if you returned aphone and wanted another model you could choose that model righ there and nothave to wait.

I agree--if I had it to do over again. I order via telephone with SBC (to get my Cingular discount), and it has been one problem after another. It's my understanding that the person I spoke with wasn't even a Cingular employee, thus she was not able to answer all my questions.

Agreed.

Only buy music CDs and computer hardware from the internet. Everything else go into a store and purchase. ESPECIALLY wireless devices of any shape and form.

Although i've issues with the site... I have to address this post...

First of all, when you own your own Wireless Provider i'm sure you'll have the best website beating out both Cingular and Verizon... until then though the site may have issues we do not live you in wireless woes as you are so fundamentally expressing... You may very well be one of the handful of customers that cannot see the Retention phone number displayed when the site is down so that you can still order your phone for the same deal... so the number is 866.650.1836... Since apprently... hundreds... even 1000's of customers do see that number everyday and call it accordingly.

Just as wireless phones occasionally drop calls, the internet occasionally has glitches. Sites go down for one reason or another. Cingular's site being temporarily down is NOT, I repeat... NOT... a reason to go into cardiac arrest. It's something that happened.

Jeez, don't get your panties all in a bunch. Chill out and take a walk to your local store, if you want to see and price phones so stinkin' badly. I'm sure the outing will be good for you.
