New Cingular phones AIM only?

I am a current AWS user considering migration to Cingular GSM. While examining the new V551 at my local new Cingular store I noticed that AIM is the only IM client available on the phone. The V505 (through AWS up until last week) gave the user a choice between AIM and Yahoo IM (my preferred choice). Is it possible to remove the AIM icon from the main phone menu on the new phones? (I tried on the demo unit and could not change it, just move it down the menu list). The sales rep I spoke with didn't know how to do anything with the phone or IM. Is this exclusive AIM promo across all new Cingular phones (or just a few) at the expense of consumer choice (i.e. you can no longer use Yahoo or MSN IM)? I want nothing to do with AOL. Also, doe...

Ditto for me re AOL! Mine has AOL IM, ICQ (also AOL), and CingularWireless IM. I have a different phone, though.
