Too many phones to choose from!!!

Ok well my contract expires in September, and with all these newly announced AT&T phones i seriously cant seem to choose one. Im leaning towards a smartphone (maybe the Moto Q9 or BlackBerry 8820), but then i've heard that the LG PRADA has a chance to come to AT&T (is this true?). Anyway what i'm asking is which smartphone would you choose from AT&T that is currently available and/or is coming out in the near future. Btw, i dont care for the BlackBerry Pearl, Curve, or at&t's slider smarthphone. What's your opinion? Thanks 😁

Unless LG changes it, and it's possible they will, the Prada is a Tri-Band GSM phone and is missing the 850 band at&t uses. BTW those who bitch about the iphone not being 3g, this phone doesn't have it either.

I have read somewhere that LG is making a CDMA version of the Prada for VZW.

The LG rep came and visited us once when I worked in Tucson. He confirmed a ton of awesome phones coming to AT&T (LG Shine among others), but when I asked about the Prada he kind of just gave me a frown.

It's probably going to VZW, unfortunately.

If you want camera then get the curve, if not get the 8820 when it comes out. BB rules!

Now i just read on Gizmodo that Nokia is preparing the N95 to come to a 3g network. AT&T better pick it up because i really want that phone. (5 mp camera, mp3) Do you think there is a chance it comes to AT&T?

possibly, you can still buy it unlocked and use it without a hitch. I would also look at the new sony ericsson k850i it has 5mp camera, mp3, and 3g for USA. And typically in my experience the sony's are a little more stable than the symbian OS.

All the news on the net shows it's going to be on T-mobile's new 3G newtork in the 1700 MHz range.

i have a question, when u buy an unlocked phone, how does it work? do you just automatically pick up service from, say, AT&T? how do u pay for calls etc?

Put whatever sim card you want in it and it picks up that network. The cool thing with the nokia's and the sony's is that they have a settings wizard that automatically programs mms and internet settings where other brands you have to painstakingly enter them manually.

the 3g will/should work on ATT, The Kaiser is rumored to be released then by ATT so I am dubious of them picking the N95 up...you could also use it as a phone/Edge device on t-mobile. as its quad band. I really wish T-mobile would get to lighting up their 3g.
