Anyone? Anyone? This is the second thread I've started and like the third I've seen? Can anyone comment on the quality of Cingular in the NYC metro area - Jersey even? Particularly, I'm interested in Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn? How about Long Island? And what kind of problems do you encounter?? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Why not just try it for yourself - there is a 30 day trial period.

I live in NYC and have had Cingular service for approx. 6 months. I can only comment on Cingular's service in Manhattan and Jersey. The most frequent problem I've noticed is a weaker/less quality signal than what I used to have with ATT in certain areas. I have noticed that the service/signal is getting better though after the Cingular-ATT merger was approved. I also started seeing that in areas where I had a weak or no signal in the past, it now "roams" to Cingular Extended (I incur no charges). I was initially planning on switching to Verizon once my year long contract ended but now that this merger went through with ATT, I'll see how much the service improves and make my decision later.

Thanks!! I currently use T-Mobile and since Cingular uses T-Mobile's towers, their own towers and AT&T's towers, I figure I'll get 3 times the service (T-Mobile, Cingular, and AT&T).
