Lockline on Nokia 6200

Mendel

I am doing a lockline replacement for a Nokia 6200, which they do not have in stock anymore, so they are sending me a Motorola v180, afterwards I realized that it lacks EDGE, so I called back, and they filed a change of order form.

according to phone scoop, the only GSM phones from Cingular that have Speaker Phone and Edge are:

Motorola V551

Nokia 3200

Nokia 6200

Nokia 6230

Nokia 6620

Nokia 6820

Sony Ericsson Z500

(so what is my best bet... to push for...)

Which market are you in??? Do you think you could help me out? (Perhaps notating my account)

If you can, I would really appreciate me... you could reach me privately by clicking on my user name. (And giving me your email address)

(If it takes any of your time, I will defiantly compensate you for the bother...)

Besides, this guy seems very selfish by saying: "If you can, I would really appreciate me..." and also "I will defiantly compensate you for the bother..." LOL

you probably won't have much of a choice in the matter, they may give you one or two choices, and it really has nothing to do with the ins making the decision but the options cingular provides for the ins to give out. speaking as someone in the know 😉

I just spoke to lockline again, and they again see no difference between GPRS and EDGE, all she is saying that both the v180 and the 6200 have wireless internet...

please help me out!

you just have to talk to a manager the next time you call. i had to do that the first few times i called. they tried to offer me a 3200, but i said, no haps! Just keep pecking at the managers and you'll get one.

I was on the phone with a supervisor at Cingular for over a half hour, and she was still stubborn on the fact that the v180 also has "high speed data" and she did not even know what EDGE was.

At the end, I happened to mention that the 6200 has radio and inferred that the v180 does not have, yet I am not making an issue of it, b/c those things are small features while EDGE is important.

anyway some how that was the key, since she said radio is enough of a reason for her to give ...

I just got my Nokia 6230 through lockline, it came new (not refurbished) and so far I am very happy...

I just needed some advice, so if you have a Nokia 6230 please post:

1) How do I change the active speech codec (*3370# on most Nokia's but does not work on this phone...)

2) What is a good MMC card to get? (Is Nokia any better?)

3) What is a good Bluetooth headset? (Is Nokia any better?)

4) Should I better get a Bluetooth port for my computer or a data cable? (And how much do they both cost?)

5) How do I turn MP3 files from my computer into ringers? (And is there any way for me send from a email address, or elsewhere online, a picture or an MP3 file, that my phone will receive)

Also any advice for me, as a new 6230 us...

as this point, they already sent me the v180,

and I called in twice afterwards, when I realized that it does not have EDGE, in the 2nd phone call, she said she would send me out a change of order form... (what ever that means..)

any tips for me?

a change order is company jargon for placing a request for a different phone if the first one has a problem or is the wrong one, did you specify that edge was a feature that you needed to have on your phone? sometimes they don't consider the speed of the data transfer to be an important feature, as long as it is data capable. definately press for that being a feature that you need to have for whatever reason

Actually, I think so. 2260 would most likely be the replacement shipped out. That's what shows on the insurance company matrix sitting on my desk.

What was the final phone you recieved? I am going to do the same thing sometime in december with the nokia 6200. I would take the 6230 but i really want a V551. i know to purchase the phone brand new, the V551 is cheaper. for the most part they are the same phones as far as features go, but i want a clamshell phone instead of what i have now... would that be a good argument?
