as much as i hate wal-mart i still have to shop there for somethings. 👿

about 3 weeks ago i went there with my little brother to buy some back to school stuff. while there he seen the blue razr, and wanted it. well i tried to use my sales skills to turn him away and tried to get him something i could nab a cost from my company. it didnt work. so i purchased a moto blue razr outright for him.

we'll yesterday morning the main screen decides to crap out on him (there were other razr-ish problems before that too). i thought, no biggie its within 30 days i'll exchange it out. we go back and guess what they are all sold out of blue razrs. they call other wal-fart marts and there's none available at any of the other area ones (just my...

manufacturer warranties only extend to the original purchaser in most cases. I also believe Wal-Mart only gives you a 15 day exchange period.

Lets hope they don't screw you.

Walmart is only a 15 day policy in store. Same with Best Buy. Radio Shack honors the 30 days.

One potential problem is that if you bought the phone outright.. and did not update the IMEI on the account, then it's shown in the system as not belonging to you.

Pros and Cons of not updating IMEI:

Pro: Doesn't affect contract or upgrade status
Con: In this case, you may have just ate $200

There's a reason Wal Mart has that low un-activated price. I helped a woman unscramble her account who had purchased a phone at Wal Mart. The "rep" there had added a second line to her account on a seperate rate plan, and had a different SIM number attached to her phone number. It was a complete mess that took 30mn, POSII and Customer Care to...

Walmart took mine back after 15 days and before 30. Perhaps it just varies from store to store. I have never had a problem with them.

It's not hard to return things to Wal-Mart. I just depends on how much the Customer Care employee cares.

I've returned 6 month old used stuff without the box and they don't care.

You won't be able to do that anymore. Beginning in July Wal Mart began a new return policy. You have 15 days from the date of purchase with receipt and packaging. That's it. Only the CSM can over ride that and if they do, they are held accountable for every return over the 15 day period.

I just returned something that was unopened, with receipt that I had for 26 days. It wasn't a phone though. No CSM was involved.

It depends on the product. Electronic devices have a 15 day return period and I think the state of the packaging (open or unopened) matters too.

I used to work at Best Buy and called WalMart for a price check. The kid from electronics said he had the DVD but couldn't find it so I asked him to just enter the UPC intop the register and see what price it gave. He tried to argue that the UPC would be different between WalMart and Best Buy, that I needed a sku number that would be the same. I politely explained to him that UPC stood for UNIVERSAL PRODUCT CODE (or something similar) and would be the same... universally. He tried to argue with me again and refused to try... that's my testiment of the ignorance of your basic WalMart employee.

Yes, you are correct. It needs to start from the date of purchase.

Walmart is evil period. They shouldn't be allowed to sell phones with contracts because they truly DO NOT know what they are doing. I'm not suprised that the phone is old. They buy in bulk all at once and only have an item in stock until they sell out then they NEVER get it in again...usually. Plus I find it sad that the employees that work there get paid pennies while Walmart themselves get the commision and use part of it to further sell the item at "everyday Walmart price."

Why didn't you just get a RAZR from your store? I was in WalMart yesterday getting some pictures printed and I overheard a WalMart employee at the cell phone thing trying to sell a RAZR and using totally false information like "Well this one gots a music player." Talking about the V3 vs a CU500. I was going to say something but I really didn't care. If those people are dumb enough to buy a phone at WalMart, then they deserve to be ****ted out of their money.

👿 👿 i attempted to take the phone back on wednesday morn. i had a few other things to return like ink for my camera printer since i purchased the wrong ones.

i get there and they give me a hard time returning the ink and phone because they have a seperate return policy for darn near every item now. the ink they dont return at all. after some arguement and showing it was never opened they returned it on a gift card.

the phone whole different fight. their policy is as follows. i dont know if this is every wal-mart or they just were feeding me bull but here's what i was told.

phones purchased with a 2 year can be returned for up to 30 days. because if they dont take them back after 15 days and most carriers now offer 30 day...

The walmart in our area will not exchange or refund for any cell phones regardless of carriers 30days or if it's a go phone if it's not even opened. When we called the store for a customer they said it had to do with fraud. I worked for Coke for 9.5 years and I will NOT purchase anything from Wally World. They treat the customer like crap, the salesmen that keep their product on their shelves like crap, and they treat their employees like crap. I would rather put money into Targets pockets. At least they treat you with respect. Go in on a shift change and watch the WalMartians do their cheer. Yeah Minimum Wage!!
