Ok so im new to buying an unlocked phone and keeping a rate plan with it, and i was looking at an iphone-type phone (lots of features, nice camera, etc) but the prices seem a little rediculous ($599) when there are a lot of unlocked phones for a lot cheaper, so i wondering if someone new any GREAT unlocked phones that are reasonably priced. thanks

You're not signing a contract. $599 is not unreasonable for an unlocked phone with iPhone like features. In fact, that's pretty cheap. If you don't like it, you'll need to get a locked phone with a contract that makes you liable for $175 for the next 2 years. Either way, it comes out to be the same.

Any unlocked sony ericsson is going to work fine as long as it has gsm 850/1900. I just sold my k790a it was awesome! Way better camera than the iphone, music player, web capable, and fantastic battery life. Also look for the k850 coming out soon if you want something super nice or the current w580 model is cool too. check www.gsmarena.com for different model info here are a few good sites to buy from.

Another phone that is good for a mid level phone if you do not need all the bells and whistles is the razr v3i. I have one and have Dobson Cellular One service and it works awsome. Even in places most phones do not get service, it does. And with AT&T's service being better and bigger than Cell One, it would have to be great.

pffft, the v3i is mediocre at best. JK, look at his original post he wants something with all the bells and whistles.
