Expansion Plans
Since Cingular has to sell its network in Cali., does anybody know what kinda of expansion they are planning to do on the network there, specifically in Southern California?
Also does anybody know if any expansion is planned for the Denver, Colorado area?
Thanks in Advance.

Cali wasn't one of the areas they had to sell their network. In some areas they had to sell some of their spectrum but that won't affect the network because they just adjust their current towers to use the spectrum they do have.

Every where else said that Cingulars original 1900 network was going to Tmobile and Cingular was just going to use the old ATT network as their primary.

Not their network. Their specturm. FCC said they could only have 70 Mhz of spectrum in any area so if AWS and Cingulars combined spectrum is more than 70Mhz then they have to sell the license for the excess spectrum. This may mean shutting down some towers because of two towers being too close together to use the same channels, but i doubt very many. In some areas they did have to sell their network but Cali is not one of them. AR, OK, Carolina's are the big areas that had to be sold.
