Question regarding Roaming fees
I'm from Binghamton, NY and there's an ATT tower in my campus at SUNY Binghamton.
If I take a cingular account from Ithaca ( the telephone code is the same ( 607) even though its a different zip ), I'm assuming that the Cingular service will pull from the ATT tower on campus.
Will I be charged for roaming fees or something like that ( ANY HIDDEN FEES) , because I will be making pretty much all my calls from there. The problem I'm having is that if I enter my zipcode at the cingular site or any wireless retailer, they dont show me any deals. I have to enter the Ithaca zipcode.
Hoping someone can throw light on the matter.
Thanks in advance
See if had a regional plan based out of new york, and went to Florida as an example it would say att/cingular on the phone, since you are on the network but still assessed roam fees for being out of the regional area for your plan
If you have any questions, best bet would be to go to the web, look at your plan map, or go to cingular store and get a map, or if you want to wait for a rep through customer care they could look for you but best to do other options first.
If this is the case, then I'm definitely going with Cingular since I like their phones a whole lot more that any of Verizon's phones.
Thanks.

So if I had the nation 450 plan , it will not matter where I make my calls from. I could just as easily buy the phone from a different state also and make all my calls from another place and it won't matter.
