hanging on to TDMA

I have a TDMA account. I am waiting to see if any good phones are coming out for Q4 07 or Q1 08 before I switch to GSM. Are there any benefits to GSM over TDMA? How good is the unlimited Media/Internet browsing? I am thinking of an N Series N80 if possible.

clearer calls, shorter battery life, no $5 monthly charge, no threat of obsolescence

I'd say GSM has a good set of advantages over TDMA for you. 🙂

I agree with sangyup81. It is just a better experience overall on the GSM/WCDMA platform than TDMA. There are many benefits from upgrading to GSM/WCDMA from TDMA. Most importantly, it will cost less for you, because it costs less for carriers. TDMA is very expensive and that is why you are getting charged the $5/month just for that. Obviously, that $5/month will disappear. You will have clearer quality on the voice side, and faster data speeds. There are going to be some new phones coming into the future for GSM/WCDMA carriers including AT&T and T-mobile.

AT&T has stepped it up when it comes to data.
