Yes,

By now we all have heard the story and many advantages of 3G Technology on phones?

But what's the real story, Is it going to actually develop in rual areas to take over for the fastest largest Network....

Or is that even the story?

Will 3G In America Do what it does for Carriers In Europe & Asia?

Just Curious, I am a dealer who knows and preaches 3G, but I am also a hardcore skeptic

Rural areas might be a little bit tough economically wise because as you know it costs a lot of money to first acquire rural spectrum area, if that even exists, and to actually deploy the network to launch those services.

Some companies like the bigger ones do not really go into rural areas, as they do not want to spend the capital expenditures to do so. They probably do not see an economic return. I think probably like Alltel maybe even T-mobile will focus their efforts by providing their services in the rural areas as they cater to more those kind of areas more. “Will 3G In America Do what it does for Carriers In Europe & Asia?” no

^^^^ That's kind of what I figured.

I'm at the end of my first year selling phones, and Have come to realize alot more than what I am trained or taught.

Where I am located, a majority of my customers come from the backwoods or farm area.

So we actually have to sell them GSM phones, which are not labled as our top of the line phones....It's not a good look for 3G

Thanks for your response

Rural is always very tough because as I mentioned companies do not really want to spend money expanding there. I think eventually it would come. maybe the 700mhz would change things. T-mobile likes to go into the rural areas as well as Alltel so who knows. as mentioned before Sprint’s Wimax will go into the rural land.

I am sure it will happen but it will not be until ASP’s goes down and other costs go down. I think companies should go into the rural areas because it gives great opportunities. That is why in rural cable companies do not really provide their services while satellite companies do.
