Help!!!

sellgeek

Sep 26, 2007, 10:59 AM
I have a customer who needs a phone with bluetooth and WITHOUT a camera. Also, he does NOT want a smartphone/BB.

I have been looking all morning but I can't think of a phone that has those specs.

Anyone have any ideas?? He isn't eligable for upgrade so something discontinued or a refurb is okay. I just need to tell him what phone model to look for.

Thanks!! 😁

Ya know what? I got nothing... I know our business care used to have access to versions of our phones that didn't have the camera. At one of my old stores I saw a lot of Lockheed Martin employees who had a company business care rep that would provide them with their phones.

Yeah, thats exactly the problem.

This guy works for Northrop Grumman and can't have a camera phone.

Are there any Go phones that are bluetooth/no camera?

The LG 405 maybe a good option, if I can find one...

If you put a go phone on a postpaid account they'll flag and suspend the service. That's against our Terms of Use.

I'd just get him in contact with business care.

Yeah... I wasn't going to sell it to him. But walmart will sell you anything.

He has already talked to business care. They said they can't do anything for him becuse he can't upgrade, nor does he have insurance.

I told him to go the ebay route, but he still needs to know what to look for. Thats why I asked about the go phones.

I really feel bad for this guy, so I am going out of my way to find him a solution, even though I will prolly not make a sale off of him.

There's nothing on the current phone list that meets that. 😕 I remember the Motorola 550 but that was about two years ago.

Definitely do not suggest a prepaid phone for him, even from walmart. They'll find it and cut off his service.

The only thing that's out there current is the 8800 or 8820. I honestly just can't think of anything with bluetooth and no camera.

They actually do cut off the service if you buy a prepaid phone and put it on post paid service? I have never heard of that...when did they start doing that? Just curious...love new ways to fight ol' wally world

They've been SUPPOSEDLY doing this for a while now but the truth is...I have yet to have anything happen to ANY of the customers that I've told to go Wal-Mart in over 2 years! This is just a scare tactic to "persuade" people to buy a phone at the marked up "full retail cost". Look at it this way....if a customer tried out the network by purchasing a go phone and THEN wanted to convert it to a monthly plan....is AT&T conna cut off the service because they're using their old phone? I think not!

What's your CUID or Agent code? I need to report you so you can be retrained and counseled.

I work next to a wal mart and I see it at least twice a month, because reps like you tell consumers to do something which suspends their service. The last time I saw it was this past Monday.

Hmmmmm...strange how this happens to you but it NEVER happens to me or any of the people who are smart enough to just do this on your own....looking to pad your own pockets a little bit at the expense of the customer are we? 👀

Look at it this way...if you were a customer that who I told to do this and something screwed up...wouldn't you come back and yell at me for making you lose your money? I know I would!

oh ya, my agent code is OU812 🤣

Awesome, thanks. You wouldn't believe how many reps I get in trouble for doing exactly what you're doing.

It probably never happens to you because the customer is too pissed off to deal with you again. I know I wouldn't go back to an agent who set me up to waste my time and money.

Call me a liar if you want to, but you know policy and you're the one choosing to break it. I'm not magically suspending these people's accounts, but they are coming in with their Go Phone from Wal Mart and a suspended account.

Reps that intentionally mislead customers like you shouldn't have a job.

Well I'm not magically making them work either. And as for the job thing...why do you think customers like to deal with people like me? The reason is because the customer service at the COR stores is attrocious. I have a COR store EXACTLY 4.3 miles away and I have regular customers that drive PAST that store because the reps constantly have attitude like it's their RIGHT to treat customers like garbage. They come to me because I listen to what they have to say and I treat them like people...not commissions. I make good money here and I have for the last FIVE years! I had a woman not more than 2 hrs ago stop in here because the mall store looked at one thing when she had a problem and said they couldn't help her...A 12 YEAR CUSTOMER!!! ...

All because YOU wouldn't help her and I'M the one who shouldn't have a job? Grow up and learn what CUSTOMER service REALLY is!

It sounds like you have issues. I've never seen your customer, I don't work in a mall, nor am I a COR employee.

You're still breaking policy, and doing it knowingly. You're proud of yourself for selling a feature, a case, and a new phone? Well, that's your job. Woopidee do! Yes, you shouldn't have a job. If you're an agent, you could lose your whole company their jobs for breaking your agent agreement.

I don't have ANY issues...I'm doing just fine and the customer was just one of many I get that won't go near a COR store...she's an EXAMPLE...I never infered you knew her, saw her ect. 🙄

As for doing my job...thats the point, I AM doing my job, unlike the "holier than thou" COR reps.

If you don't work at a COR store, your obviously in the business...what do you do that all these poor helpless souls come to you for all their problems that you shut off their phones for?

Did you even read what I wrote?

First of all, you said that I wouldn't help your customer. I quoted you saying that. I've never seen your customer and I'm probably states away. The fact that you blame me for her troubles shows that you do have an issue.

I also stated I don't shut off their phones. At&t shuts off their phones for prepaid fraud. They come to me, and I fix it. I instruct them to return the phone to Wal Mart for a refund. I get their number so I can report the rep they talked to, which really really makes these pissed off customers happy. At this point they're so frustrated with everything they've gone through that it makes them happy knowing that rep will get into trouble.

If they have insurance, I give them ...

Yes, I read what you wrote...and as I explained in the last post...I said you meaning the COR reps...since you said you are NOT a COR rep, I can only assume your an agent.

It seems that you enjoy reporting people instead of healping people...I think it is YOU that has the issues. You obviously have insecurity issues, anyone else wouldn't worry about it. You are the typre that always has to be right and show that you are "better than the next guy", thats the REAL issue.

When a customer comes in with an out of warrenty phone, the fact of the matter is this, thay have 4 options: 1) buy a brand new phone at full retail cost. Very few people do this for obvious cost reasons. 2) Upgrage. If they're not eligable, refer to option 1. 3...

You said "you" in response to me. Is English not your native language?

If you convert a Gophone account to Postpaid it asks if they would like to use their existing equipment in Northwest states. Does it not offer this in the south?
