What about GAIT coverage

I cannot get a straight answer from 611, several company owned stores and several dealers. What are people to do if they need full national coverage. Many of the most popular ski areas in WVA. are covered by TDMA providers(previous Cingular roaming providers) as well as highway US 93 from Vegas to Reno. The Cingular map shows no coverage in those areas and with GSM phones having no analog back-up; what are users to do? I pay extra for GAIT which I need only a few days a year. Can you use a GSM plan and pay roaming in the TDMA areas when needed? Thanks for assistance.

To get the coverage he was asking about, he would have to have the old GAIT nation plans. The portions of WV he wants are not GSM yet. So, he can get those areas only if he has an old GAIT plan.

Yep, those lovely gait phones can now benefit from the GSM nation plans. I set my sister up on it over thanksgiving while she was visiting. I'm pretty sure we have to select the technology as GSM/GAIT (as opposed to GSM) and enter the IMEI, ESN, and SIM, but then there should be no problems.
