What is the CHEAPEST route to migrate from blue to orange? Especially for a family plan with 3 phones & 1 single line (totaling 4 phones). I don't plan on doing it, but it would be nice to know if I do decide to.
...
I forgot to mention... please include all fees & prices of phones.
...
Does anyone even care about this question?
...
unfortunately there will be an 18 dollar migration fee for all lines its att its cingular so no matter what the blue agent says they will not waive it. You get new cusotmer pricing that is it because you have a shared plan you need to go to a direct store they can contact the correct dept. but your single line can be migrated through the website which makes all the phones cheaper but you still get charged the 18 dollars. then again check around christmas they might waive the fee. they did it for california on thanksgiving who knows. that was not a promise I hope that helps

I called the store & they did not offer such a great deal. I have been told that i could do it over the phone. So since i am on a family plan... i get ALL the same deals as a new customer?
...
Yes, that is correct.
...
You get all the same deals as a new customer except you don't pay the $36 activation fee that a new customer pays. instead you pay an $18 upgrade fee. If you do it over the phone you get free shipping 3-5 buisness days or you can pay 14.95 for over night shipping. Phones prices depend on where you live
...
If i go to the sotre, would i have to pay the fee up front or would i get billed for it?
...
Any activation or upgrade fees that you incure are billed to you. When you purchase a phone in store. All you would pay for in store in for the phone.

The fee is always billed. I believe you have the option to pay it in store IF the store is connected to billing, but it's really just the same thing as sticking $18 on your account to make it a -$18 balance.
...
Ok so i called the store & he did advise me that they are offering the deals to family plans. He said that i would not get the same deals as online. also he said that i would lose my early nights & weekends, unless i pay $14.99. is this right?
...
14.00 dollars if you have the minimum 2 lines on the family plan they pay 7.00 each for 7pm n/w, if you get 2 more lines to make total of 4 those last 2 lines don't have to pay but will still get the 7pm,so long as the first 2 do pay for it.

You're confusing the terms... same deals as a new customer... and same deals online... They mean two different things... Yes you're eligible for the same pricing as a new customer... but online pricing is just that... online pricing... and you would not be able to get online pricing @ store or w/ telesales.

So let me see if i have this right
If I do NOT switch, everything will remain the same:
Nights at 7
Free Incoming SMS
Rate plan stays the same
Fees the same
If i DO switch, i am liable for $18 per line, equip costs & will be starting fresh & new.
If i want the early nights, its only 1 fee of $14.99 for the whole account.
Is this right?

It's a monthly fee of $14... Other than that you've pretty much got it... Eventually we will force migrations... but not yet.
...
We've been told we won't force for another couple years. Atleast we've been told our center isn't expected to get training on the Cingular systems for 2 years so i assume that means the AWS plans will stay around for that long. Of course if you need a new phone then you will have to go to Cingular because we won't have anymore AWS phones around soon. For a lot of people the thing that is going to get them over to Cingular is their phone breaking down.

I said eventually we will force migrations.
...
I know. I was just giving them a little bit closer estimate. Now its still just an estimate and Cingular could decided to do it tomorrow but not likely because as soon as they force you off your phone they must either have better service everywere and give you a the same as or better phone for free or let you out of your contract. Now if your phone breaks down and you need a new phone then they don't have to let you out of your contract.
