The Motorola MPx220 is no longer a Best Buy exclusive phone. It is available for order at any Cingular branded store.

I live in the Dallas area. I just checked cingular's website and entered my zip code. The z500 is still not available though.
Does the date of the 10th mean that it will be online on the 10th, or it will be in stores on the 10th, or what?
Also, "already available for order" means I can go to my cingular store and order it? If so, about how long does it take for the phone to get to you?

You can go into any store as of today and order it. It's highly doubtful they'll have it in stock, and they may not even know it's available. Most stores do all their inventory ordering on one set day of the week, so your order will come in a few days after the order is placed. With christmas-time shipping schedules, I would expect a delay on any shipment of at least one day longer than what they estimate. My monday shipment isn't in yet 😕

customers are putting down deposits to special order the phone. we are not carrying the stock in stores. we are being told that we can have it in a few days, but haven't had a customer order it yet. the deposit is 150.

Telesales for Central Florida quoted $79.99 - 2 yr and $149.99 - 1 yr. about 5 days ago. Has the price increased or is that just your market ??

Prices on phones could fluctuate from one customer to another depending on service tenure, rate plan, and last phone upgrade tenure.
In the past I have also seen better discounts for people who have automatic recurring payment and paperless billing as the companies past the savings to the customer.

"the expected release"...where did u get this info from? I not doubting you, but was is Cingular who gave out those dates for the phones? Or just another 3rd party seller that "heard" it from somewhere.
