Now I will be totally honest...
I have been a loyal Verizon customer for several years now. Their network really is outstanding. I get a signal EVERYWHERE... but I have to admit, their phone selection, limited features and poor GUI are enough to make customers angry.
Anyways, I had cingular about 6 years ago - and I was miserable with it. Calls often would not get through, and it was difficult to make calls due to poor signal. Finally I was fed up and quit to go to Verizon where I am now.
Well now Im considering going back, but my biggest concern is network/signal. Im afraid Im going to be unhappy with AT&T service like I was years ago.
How come some many people still complain about AT&T service? Does it just depend on the ...

Well without knowing where you are it's a little difficult. I personally love the service and have no complaints. I have had Cingular, now AT&T for about 2 1/2 years. I live in the NY metro area but have traveled all alone the East coast without a problem. Verizon is also very good around here too. I must say that the customer service with AT&T has been excellent. I had some billing issues and they took care of them immediately.

Just get a temp number with whatever phone you want. If it works for you within the first 30 days, then you can port your Vz number with no problem. And if it doesn't; you can return the equipment and pay a prorated bill for your usage.
Maybe I'm not looking right, but I don't see any recent posts on which people are complaining about AT&T reception-wise.

Depends on where you live. For instance everybody complains about verizon here because they roam might not get charged for it but they don't get half there features they should in the south part of Missouri. Overall AT&T in my opion has great coverage and the no roaming is a BIG plus. My major competior here is Alltel and it's really not that much of a competition either. Best thing to do, get a phone on contract and take the 30 day try out time.

Your biggest concern is network/signal? You've stated you have great service and coverage everywhere with VZW. 🤨 Could phone selection and GUI be the bigger consern?

Yeah the only reason everyone talks about verizons network is because that is all verizon talks about. Thats about all they got. Crappy phones with crippled software on a cold boring network. Although I do like AT&T's phones, there are alot of unlocked gsm phones that are awesome. Make the switch, AT&T has great phones that are customizable, a great network, nice bundle packages if you are in a AT&T home phone/dsl service area. The only thing that I wish AT&T would work on in my area is faster internet (3G). Although EDGE provides me with fast enough internet, if it were faster I would get a pc card.

I agree you should take that ATT test drive, and be honest with yourself about the voice quality, you won't be happy! and you'll wind up sticking with verizon. verizon has the best network period, plus their dropping a plethora of cool devices by Thanksgiving.

I second that, take the test drive.

Stop quoting your guidelines. You sound like you're saying what Vz demands you to rebuttle when someone insinuates he or she is porting over to us. BTW, you call those phones cool? Since when 3 phones makes a 'plethora'?
You Verizon people crack me up!

One of my friends switched to Verizon two years ago from Cingular because he started working for Verizon home services and got a hell of a discount.
He called me last week because his contract is coming up and he wants to switch back. 🤣

Verizon has a lot more than just 3 phones coming out, you must just be thinking of the 3 premier holiday phones. Verizon Wireless operates the nation’s most reliable wireless network. It is the only major carrier with a 30-day network test-drive pledge that pays for calls if a customer isn’t satisfied and switches to another carrier.

I stopped reading after that. This is a tool with a statement like that!
