I've got a feeling that either ATT, or evil Verizon will reach the 70 million customer mark in the not too distant future, that's just my personal prediction.
I would much, much, much rather see ATT reach the 70 million mark first. I wouldn't be one bit suprised.
Where's the carrying capacity of the cell-phone user population? Where will net adds stop? Everyone's hopping off rural telecoms onto nationwide monsters but eventually there will barely be 1 million new adds across the top five.
How many people are buying cell phones for their five year olds? How many are running up bills on one carrier to jump ship to another? Where will the madness end?
It is very ignorant of you to say that these numbers are bad; when in reality they're not. Churn -once again- went down. Could we say the same thing about Vz? I'm not so sure. I think their churn will go up slightly due to the iPhone. The iPhone is bringing a lot of attention to AT&T and their products. Someone walking into AT&T store may realize that the iPhone is not what they're looking for, but that Tilt sitting next to it with its 3.2 megapixel camera is better than anything that Vz offers at the moment...
Overall Churn 1.7 😲

keep in mind:
"Churn levels continue to reflect modest pressure from the
company’s ongoing transition of customers from its TDMA platform to its
GSM network. The transition is expected to be completed in early 2008."
once all of TDMA goes dark, you'll see churn levels drop further.
7-11's here, like every two miles! And anyway, I never knew 7-11 themselves have they're own brand of prepaid wireless service.
I always see corny TracFone there

AT&T also managed to cut its overall and postpaid churn rates. The company's total churn rate was down to 1.7% from 1.8% in the year-ago quarter. Postpaid churn dropped from 1.5% in the third quarter of 2006 to 1.3% this year.
So it could just be some retard doesnt understand how to make a budget or could be VZW had higher than normal churn this last quarter.
For example I had a 20 min call with someone screaming and yelling about the 70 cent admin charge and 4 cent regulatory charge each month on their bill. He kept demanding that we let him port his number out without an ETF because the charges were "unjust" and that he wouldnt have them with AT&T...
