3G in Denver ??

Again I am asking about 3G in Denver. It appears that Colorado Springs is now up with 3G. Any news about denver - FCC stuff resolved ???
I asked a sales jerk at an AT&T store 2 days ago about 3G in Denver - he said "Definitely this week". Are these guys told to lie???

There is supposed to be a soft launch this month in the denver market he wasn't lying.

Key word is "supposed". There really seems to be a continuing saga of vapor-ware claims. A lie is a statement or claim that is not truthful. That store made the same claim 10 months ago. For me, it is a lie, will continue to be a lie until the end of the week and 3G is still not up in Denver.
Can you tell me what a "soft launch" is? and where does this information come from.

It means that they are activating the 3g network in partial areas. It can also mean that they are not telling customers or advertising about it but still turning it on.

This is directly from someone I know who doesn't open their mouth unless it is true:

"AT&T’s 3G network has soft launched Oct 15th in the Boise market and Colorado markets will begin a progressive rollout of selected areas this week continuing thru the end of October. Utah market officially launched last year.

This soft launch of our 3G network will continue until the official and public launch in early November. Additional 3G information will be communicated as available."

Feel your pain maydog. I waited for two years in Honolulu and we finally got 3g last week. It was worth the wait. The company I work for headquarters is in Denver. Since I go back about every quarter it would be nice to have it there.

Don'tcha just love resourceful people!?!?!?!?
I sure do!

It sure would be nice to know some resourceful information about an article I read earlier this year about AT&T launching MobileTv in the 4th Qtr, let's not get this confused with MobiTV, I'm talking about Qualcomm's based MediaFLO technology. Do you know anything???
If it helps, I live in Las Vegas.

MobileTv is yet another thing that Cingular/ATT is BEHIND Verizon on, but yet, I continue to stay with Cingular.

I am waiting, and waitig, and waiting for MediaFLO based MobileTV to come to Cingular/ATT!!!!!

It's been mentioned that the Vu2 and the Shine (or at least one of these) will be the first two phones to support this feature. I'm thinking AT&T is waiting to get the phone closer to release before making any announcement.

Hmmmm! Maybe I've got some more research to do! Currently, my first pick is the SE K850, but if your right about the LG VU & VU2 supporting MobileTV, then I guess I'll have to consider it, especially considering how large of a screen the LG VU has.

Still no 3G in Denver......I think Sprint and Verizon will have 4G here before At&t has 3G here 😡

I would suggest that if a question is asked, and you don't actually know the FACTS, don't post an answere. This thread is a perfect example. It seems that it is unknown when AT&T is launching 3G in Denver. I personally "think" (prior statement notwithstanding) that any hint of 3G (or insert any "vaporware") is done so for marketing and that that's why the knuckleheads at the local AT&T stores make silly claims that "3G will be up this week for sure".

I've been told that it's going to happen "any day now" by At&t reps for almost a year now, I believe it when I see it.....

😲 I see that down town Denver has 3G!! Alas thouhg, not my neck of the woods. Bummer. Maybe a soft rollout will include Boulder and Foothills like the sales scum told me. Not likely.

That means that it's using HSDPA for faster downloads.
