Moto V551 & EDGE

Currently the phone im using is the V551.

Is the V551 the only phone that has EDGE. What's everyone's view on the MPx220, is it a good phone bad phone?

I like my Moto V551, but seems as though the flip is getting loose. Hadnt been dropped or anything, just feels weird like the flap can slide either left or right when opening and closing.

Just wondering what other phones are good right now. EDGE is not necessarily important but guess it would be good to have in the future.

Im still within my 30 day return timeframe, bought the Moto V551 straight out at $249.99.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ehrenbol,

Stick with your V551. I work for Wireless Retail (They sell Cingular phones in all of the Best Buy's in the US). Since we have had the MPX 220 for the past 90 days, it has been nothing but problems.

It started with typical poor speaker volume, then their was a question of software glitches where Windows would freeze. Cingular did remedy the problem and shipped all the phones back to motorola. If you buy from Best Buy, be sure to look at the box. A black sticker means the software/firmware was fixed. An orange sticker indicates the speaker volume was fixed.

The Mpx 220 is now avaliable in Cingular stores and on-line. My advice, don't bother, your V551 has every feature this phone does, plus EDGE, minus Windows 2003 for mobi...

I wouldn't suggest getting the Mpx, only because you can't insure it... Now if you have money to burn, go for it... but I don't think I'll ever buy a phone that I can't insure... the issue you are having with the flip is weird... I've had the phone about 3 weeks and haven't had any problems with it... A lot of people were talking about it squeeking but it's not a problem with the phone, just the rubber rubbing against plastic... The 6230 is a good phone, great actually, but I'd play with it at the store before you buy it the screen is the smallest of any phone Cingular is selling... (I think)

I advise taking your phone back to where you bought it. We have sent back and replaced any we had in stock or sold. Cingular is aware of this problem and will glad exchange for another (new 551s arrived tuesday)
