People who smear crap and expect others to agree.

VOLVORacr

I love it when someone posts something here that is total BS, then they are corrected and get upset and start saying how the person who actually knows what they are talking about is an a$$hole and a know it all and everything else.

If you don't want someone responding to your post, stop posting. Very simple.

They must all be cellular customers because I have to deal with it all day too. Same people who think because their buddy told them they got 2000 min for 19.99, can call in and get the same thing. Same people who expect 200.00 credit for overage, because they are a good customer and have only have service suspended twice this year. Same people who call and dispute a .20 late fee because they sent there payment two days before it w...

Well, I'm sure that this is directed at me, so I would like to respond.

VOLVO, the kind of customers you described is not me. All I expect is a phone that WORKS. I switched to Cingular, and didn't get reception, and 90% of my calls were dropped. They credited my account for that without me knowing or even having to ask. I'm not an idiot and don't expect things for free. I believe I am just entitled to the service (technical service) that is promised and expected.

I have a problem with debit because he always has excuses if I talk about the experience I had. I only post it so that other people can see that, and I always say that my problem with Cingular is probably only in certain areas, so I advise you to research it before you switch...

And that idiotic drivel is why people do not take the other CSR's seriously. One stupid apple spoils the bunch.

It's obvious you never actually READ my posts otherwise you'd know that I already migrated back to ATT before the 30 day return period was up... wow, another example of CSRs not knowing anything.

No offense to the good CSRs I've come across...

I'm really grateful to work for a great company like Cingular, though it really upsets me when I see/hear other employees not showing the same level of service and respect to our PAYING customers. Regardless of the issues that are out of your control at the Sales/CSR level, there is still a common experience that every consumer expects, and that experience should be maintained throughout the duration of their commitment. There will ALWAYS be problems & issues in any wireless company, but one thing that sets our company apart from the rest is a thing called "REPUTATION".
I'm guessing most of you don't care whether you keep your job here or not, but for the ones who actually work on Reducing Churn, Referrals, Life-Long Clients, Promotions, a...

Just like he says that other people don't have to post, neither does he. So continue to use the PUBLIC forum for it's intended purpose. There is basically a small percentage of customers who are not in the know. People who use the pones for emergency, older people, etc. If these people dont like dealing with the public they should find new jobs.

Actually no cell phone company promises good service. All cell phone comapnies say in the contract we will try to give you good service. No one promised you good service hopefully you did find a provider that works for you.

Exactly if you want perfect phone service, never any interuptions and want it portable, You got 2 options

1)Buy a landline service with a REAL LONG extention cord.Orbuy a landline cordless phone.

2)buy 2 Generators- 1 for the base stand and 1 for the Portable phone to take around and pick up power everywhere and the generator will power up thew antanae dish on the cordless phone

The fact is you have to remember your phone is a tiny device with a tiny antanae sorruounded by big buldings, and carriers all know that. Its not meant for everyday use, they were invented for tempoary use out in the wilderness that why you had to mount in the car or big shoulder battery bags, thats why if you read every companies T&C ,theyall say in differen...

Except that if a cell phone drops 90% of the calls.... I think most would agree that isn't reasonable.

The point I've been trying to make this whole time is that RESEARCH before you switch from ATT to Cingular. They're supposed to be the same towers, but for some reason, in some areas, the Cingular sim cards don't pick up all the ATT towers. But if you take the ATT sim and put it in the Cingular phone, all works fine.

Agent Debit is just too arrogant and ignorant to actually read a whole post and for some reason can't believe that his beloved Cingular doesn't work in some areas, even when it should.

I'm just trying to give a heads up for other ATT customers who want to migrate. For the love of God, find out how other people's phone...

I did not see the original post that started this problem.

AT&T towers are not all migrated into our system yet and we do not guarantee that you pick those towers up flawlessly. I do not know where you live so this may be pointless.

The thing is though if you are dropping 90% of your calls there is something else wrong. If an area was that bad, the cingular store you bought from would not be in business. Generally that many dropped calls means you got a bad phone, the IRDB was not updated on your SIM card or the last option would be a bad SIM card. I resolve so many issues with dropped calls by updating IRDB on the SIM. You probably had the typical sales person or got the typical CSR who has no concept of technical issues and blames t...

you are so right. I am pushing for more customer service reps to do more basic troubleshooting on dropeped call issues. the average rep is not trained on how to troubleshoot dropped calls on gsm. On TDMA it was easier to troubleshoot dropped calls.

I dont know about you all, if a customer is having an issue with coverage and calls dropping what appears to be 90% of the time...the first step that would need to be done would be to check and see if there is an issue where that person is having the problems and if they are current in that area. Then you would need to go about figuring out what the issue is with the device. One of the most simplistic things that may fix an issue is simply turning the phone off and then back on. This may seem silly to some however it does work sometimes!
