So, I'm currently with Verizon and I have to say that I am very, very happy. I love my phone and I love the call quality. I never drop calls anywhere I go. Now, here comes the iPhone, and I really really want it! But, I don't know if I want to go back to GSM (I used to have CellularOne/Dobson). I had a bad experience with them, mainly because I had a RAZR and the thing constantly buzzed. The only things that are drawing me back from running to AT&T right now are:
1) The iPhone doesn't have MMS Messaging
2) The iPhone only has up to 8GB of memory
3) The iPhone only has EDGE speeds (I'm used to Verizon's EV-DO speeds)
4) Again, I don't want to get that GSM "buzz" noise that I had when I had my Moto RAZR. I hope to have crystal clear call...

Good points, get the new voyager thats coming out with verizon if you want to stay with CDMA. Its all what your prefer. The iphone is junk though, verizon's new voyager and venus look pretty awesome. I'm a nokia fan, so I stick with ATT. I'd wait and see vzw's new phones before I jumped ship though.
...
I actually kind of had my eye on the Voyager. The only thing is, I wanted to get a new iPod, so I thought, "Hey, why not combine them into one!" But, it's just that the iPhone only has 8GB! And then the whole GSM thing . . . . .

Voyager supports mp3 playback, and a memory card up to 8 gigs. 8 Gigs is the current threshold for both memory cards and the iPhone, so what is the big issue if you can't get more? Be thankful they discontinued the 4 gig option. 😁

I keep hearing about this 'GSM buzz', which I've never experienced. I've had Verizon, I have AT&T, I work for AT&T and get no complaints about a buzz. It sounds like something a Verizon fanboy made up to sway people.
...
It is an sound that occurs when you get near speakers, and can be heard on the phone receiver at times. It is there, trust me but it is not as annoying as everyone would like people to think it is.
It is a nice feature cause I can tell if I have an incoming call while I have my stereo cranked up in the car. I hear that deeeeet-deeeeeeeeeet-deeeeeeeet and I know that I need to answer the phone.
😁
...
That's the GSM buzz? Only when your near a high power electronic, I love that noise. Means I'm transferring data. I can sit at work at my desk with my ringer off and know when I'm getting a text message. If that's what people are complaining about I don't want them as customers. Asshats.
...
That is the GSM buzzzzzzz....lol
Some people gripe about it like it is hearing nails across a chalkboard.
...
If that's the best thing they have to complain about then we must have some incredible service.
...
For you maybe... 🤣
I sell vzw, but I use At&t for my personal phone. 😁

Actually, LOL, that's the eentire reason that I left CellularOne. I couldn't stand the noise. It's one thing for me to hear the sound in the radio and everything but for the other person I'm talking to to hear "bzzzz bzzzz bzzzz bzzz" while I'm trying to talk gets pretty annoying. My friends couldn't stand it (they all have Verizon so they're not used to hearing it) so I decided to make the switch. Again, I'm not sure if it was so bad because I had the RAZR and it was a problem with that phone, but I know that my mom's, my grandma's, my aunt's, my dad's, and brother's phones all buzz and interfere with electronics. Not as bad as my RAZR, but enough that I brag about my phone to them, LOL.
...
See that's odd to me because I've never had one do it on a call, only when it's like sitting on my desk near my computer in or my console in the car.
And that's been the V3, V3i, V3xx, v365, L7, LG CU500, LGCU575, Nokia N75, SE w810i, SE w580i, Samsung A717, 727, 737 and so on so it's not like I just had a lucky phone that just didn't do it.
...
I also left att (cingular then) because of the buzz other people herd and i herd.it made it hard to concentrate on the conversation.but i do have to say that i have a pre paid att phone that it dose not happen on,i have also been using a friends v9 that it dose not happen on.maybe it is been fixed.just thought i would put my two cents in.
...
Just get the iTouch and a better phone.
...
Soooo that will run you what Average D-bag, about $700-$800?
...
Well, I was actually thinking about getting the iPod Touch and just keeping my current Verizon phone (Samsung SCH-u740) since it's a pretty nice phone. I like it a lot. It's just I wouldn't mind having everything in one device, if the iPhone is worth having. But, I wouldn't mind waiting if a 3G one is coming out soon or a larger GB version.

And a far better value as well......
iPhone does not even have BT headphone capability!! LOL A HUGE omission for a "premiere" music phone,,,,Ya think?
...
Has anyone told you yet how much of a tool you look like with your btooth in? Sucks avgdbag.

Don't even consider ATT their network is sub par- If you want clear calls stick with verizon!
...
VZW fanboys need not apply, seriously. Take your universal User Interface, your crippled bluetooth profiles, your misguided and mismanaged data plans, and your elitist attitude elsewhere.
Quite frankly, I hear enough of the VZW pitch at work I don't need the VZW drones following me in here.
