Rebate question

spddemun

Is it true that Cingular only allows one rebate offer PER phone?

That is what I was told today when I called the Rebate Center about a 2nd rebate that was promised to me when I signed up through SBC.

It was $50 back for any plan $39.99 and up, but since I got $50 back on each phone, they said I didn't qualify.

There was NOTHING in the fine print on SBC's Cingular site link.

I'm really needing an answer to this one as the offer expires at the end of the month, so if need be, I can re-send in the offer.

Any Reps know the answer? (see my original post above).

Thanks in advance!

What was the complete question? If just the above, yes, you only get 1 rebate thru us per line.

Original post was--SBC was offering (on their site, still there) a $50 rebate for plans $39.99 and above. When I called the Cingular Rebate center back in Nov., they confirmed it, but said it was for plans $34.99 and above (never heard of that price).

So, I sent in a 3x5 card as instructed (rebate form was not in Welcome Kit).

I called Cingular Rebate again this week to follow up (I had gotten my 'green card' return recipt a few weeks ago).

This is when I was told that since I had already gotten a $50 rebate on the PHONE (same EMI?), that I was not qualified for another.

Again, on SBC's site, NOTHING in fine print about 1 rebate per line (I printed it all out).

So, just trying to make sure before the end of the month in case ...

A) You won't see that fine print in the card and

B)You don't quslify- it is 1 rebate ONLY!!!

Those rebates are PAID by your carrier, so you getting 2 is like double dipping your cookie into cingular's milk, and that don't fly.

You can fill out as many cards as you wish, but they then check the eligibility requireents in Cingular, and then you are declined and given rejection letter.ATTWS was the same way as well.

OK, just wanted to confirm that.

It would have been nice for SBC to clarify that on their Web site offer. 🤣

I'd call SBC on it. It was their promise, not Cingulars. They might give you a credit for it.

OK, I have to call them any way since they didn't put the Cingular credit on this month!

Of course, they'll probably tell me to go to Cingular on it, like they always do. 👿

The combined billing thing is a nightmare, but since you ordered the phone through them they're the responsible party. Don't let them transfer you over. They're a reseller of Cingular service, and they're the ones who bill you?

Yes, I know. I've had combined billing for many years now, but it has gotten bad since I added Cingular--they left my $5 credit off this month.

I WILL be calling about this and the rebate. If SBC doesn't know what they are doing, they should just stay out of Cingular's business, you know? 🤣

You ARE SO WRONG.THE REASON sbc IS OFFERING THAT IS THEY CAN START YOU ON SERVICE WITH CINGULAR ,THEY ARE SIMPLY GIVING YOU AN OPTION, IT BE THE SAME AS GOING TO RADIOSHACK GETTING A PHONE WITH REBATE THEN CALLING SBC OR CINGULAR TO GET THE REBATE, ITS ONLY 1 REBATE, YOU HAVE OPTIONS TO GET THAT 1 REBATE FROM DIFFERENT PLACES!!!!
