There's no 'fix' about it. It's not something they forgot or couldn't figure out, they just didn't want that capability.

The MMS feature hasn't been added yet. Major updates so far have included bug fixes, international support and iTunes music store. Updates seem to be coming out every six to eight weeks. I expect the next software update in late January and there should be lots of third party features after the SDK gets released in January.

yes and sorta. Wallpaper has always been supported and I think custom made ringtones are also now supported without paying extra although I haven't tried using my own ringtones. Games are a little tricky for the time being. Until the official sdk release in two months you'll need to jailbreak the phone for game support. I did manage to install some old mame games on my phone. 🙂
