I am thinking about switching to at&t. I have had Alltel and currently Sprint. Both have been sub-par. Alltel was probably the worst. Sprint, I have had the longest. I am looking to switch to a smartphone.

NEEDS/WANTS 🙂

-GREAT BATTERY
-fast web
-bluetooth
-good camera- but not necessary
-MMS capable
-voice recorder/memo
-don't freeze
-don't cut off by itself
-good messaging-threaded msg would be nice
-nice web browser-heard opera mini was good
-good organizer
-can recieve calls while on the web
-can text while on a call
-HTML browser
-alot of memory-can hold alot of texts, currently have the razr & have to erase after getting 50 inbox & 50 outbox ☚ī¸

Get the blackberry curve 8310 The only things it doesn't have are super fast web, but it is reasonable though opera mini. It also doesn't have video capture. But it has everything else you are looking for, while most other phones you would be sacraficing more things with fewer benefits.

Thanks.... Do you know if it is true what some people say about there being a crack where dust can get under the screen? I have heard some people talk about that. I think I understand what you mean about sacrificing..with the battery life huh? Heard horrific reports about the new BJ II......

I have the original 8300 and yes, I do have a little dust under the screen but it isnt that noticeable and I'm not sure if they fixed that with the 8310. And yes, the batterylife, stability, and userfriendliness on most WM devices sufferes horribly. Thats why blackberry was recently rated the #1 pda platform on the market.

Yeah I read the JD Powers & Associates review. I also like the BB 8820...for some reason I like the keyboard on that 🙂 I also like the Palm Treo 750...I saw that the first time it came out and fell in love....not sure how that one is though...a friend of mine has it and he loves it so... 🙂 Thanks for helping me out...looking to make that jump at the beginning of the year....

night and weekend don't rollover, just the 450. The 750 is built very well, but the battery life is horrible and windows mobile isn't the most user friendly. But, the internet connection is fast since it is 3g. I would personally go with the motorola q9h before I would go with the 750.

Okay..thanks. So I am now looking at the BB 8310 & 8820 and the Motorola Q9h. I have looked at all these yesterday. The q9h is heavy but nice. I heard 3g drains the battery life in some phones. I will let you know if I need any more help 🙂 this is better than asking the people at the store lol....

LOL this might be a stupid question (i am no technology major) 🙂 but do you know if there is a way to transfer your pics from your digita lcamera to your phone? 🙂 Wondering if I get the BB 8820 if I could do that or with any other phone for that matter 🙂 Thanks

absolutely. The blackberries come with a disc called blackberry desktop manager which allows you to transfer data back and forth. So put your digicam pics on your computer(if they aren't already on there) and then transfer them to your phone using the data cable and bb desktop manager that comes in the box. Also, there isn't a ton of internal memory in the BB, so if you plan on puting a lot of multimedia content on your phone, you should buy a micro sd memory card which are dirt cheap now-a-days 🙂

Also, I know you said you like the keypad better on the 8820, but the curve is a little bit better when it comes to multimedia like pics, vids, etc..
