Back Dating/Retroactive Changes To Accounts

I was told yesterday that I could not, even though I am only 5 days into a new billing cycle, make a package change (Media Works down to Media Basic) until the end of this current cycle, which would be 01.11.05. The rep. told me this was something new. Is this true? Can you say $hitty?

Also, I am thinking of turning off a third number (not family talk) immediately, but yet was told by the same rep. they do not prorate the final month. So I would be paying Cingular® for 24 days of service that I am not using.

Anyone have any ideas, comments? 👿

The MEdia package change is a lie... you can make changes to your account in the middle of the bill cycle anytime... You'll just be rporated...

As far as cancelling a line... This is correct... You can cancel today but we do not pro-rate the final bill... That is in the T&C

I agree with Speck. I know we used to prorate last month anyway, but no longer. They should, however , be able to put in a future cancellation date and you can use the phone till then.

Use the service they picked that little trick out of AWS bag of tricks.Customer used to be able to prorate the plan if cancelling the onlyexception is if the customer was porting to a different carrier.AWS developed software that emininated the proration and will charge you full monthly but on the upside you do get your full month of minutes as well.

The reason it was corrected was customer would get a prorate bill, go over on minutes as rsult and would want to be credited and for what it was costing the company(Reps pays to answer the phones, peform the credits and advised of new balance)It was simply morecost effective to charge the full service and get your full minutes.

There is no way out of it, since when its cancelled the bill...
