WIth the manufacturer warranty, does it cover lost phones (especially if you dont have insurance on your phone) and how much is it for a new SIM card? The phone in question is the old razr. Thanks.

No, the manufacturer's warranty does not cover loss, theft, physical damage or liquid damage. Just like your car's warranty does not cover these things. That is why, just like for your car, insurance is offered on most of ATT's cell phones. The insurance would cover these things. If you purchase a new phone, usually we include a new SIM card with it (and that varies from store to store). If you are just going to purchase a SIM card to go in a phone you have, the price is usually around $25.00.

Unfortunately it's not the manufactures fault you lost your phone. How this is a common misconception, I have no idea.

Your salesperson should have explained to you that in order for lost, stolen, or physical damage to be covered you have to have insurance, the warranty will not cover it. To get a new phone through AT&T you will have to pay full retail price if you are not eligible for upgrade. Either way, I would recommend getting the insurance on the next one. I can't tell you how many ppl I have seen decline the insurance, then regret it when they break or lose the phone.

They really should have... But the next phone I want is going to be a Blackberry so I know there is no insurance on that. SO if I happen to lose my phone (Lord knows I hope I dont) I will have to buy a new Blackberry at full price? This is like the only sucky thing about at&t is that they dont offer insurance on their smartphones. Other than that they are great!!!!!!!!!!

Yes if you lose it you will have to pay full price, unless you get it on eBay or somewhere like that, which is a BAD idea. If you but one like that, usually the warranty is no good either, so you have no safety net at all.
