My friend wants to know if she would get the same coverage with a gophone as with a plan?

incorrect. go phone pay as you go is company owned network access only. go phone pick your plan is the same as pay as you go and preferred roaming partners. post paid is any gsm network in the country.

sorry, just to clear up, any gsm network where at&t doesn't have native coverage.
