Came over from Sprint, tried the v551.
All in all, Cingular network seems pretty good, but lots of dropped calls, voice quality not quite so good as Sprint CDMA, and incoming callers always complaining that they were getting all circuits busy messages.
The v.551 feels nice in one's hand, and has tons of great features. But all in all, the interface is too complex, and most of the cool features I would never use anyway.
So, I'm heading back to Sprint and a new Sanyo phone (Sanyo, IMHO, simply sets the standard for quality and performance in handsets - the menu is simple and elegant, and the phones work better than any I've ever used).

good point. It always sucks when there's network issues, as they will never go away. It's just part of running such a complex thing. I feel SO bad for customers just coming on board for the first time in the midst of one. Leaves a really bad first impression âšī¸

My disappoinment was definitely more focused on the phone than the network. I was actually *very* impressed with in-building coverage in DC.

Actually--- If you wanted to be a smart a$$, we had 46,000,000 customers before he signed up, so if we do a little thing called math you'd see that if he came and went, we'd still have 46,000,000...
