Thanks, but no thanks.

Truman Show

(Cross posted from the Motorola v.551 forum)

Came over from Sprint, tried the v551.

All in all, Cingular network seems pretty good, but lots of dropped calls, voice quality not quite so good as Sprint CDMA, and incoming callers always complaining that they were getting all circuits busy messages.

The v.551 feels nice in one's hand, and has tons of great features. But all in all, the interface is too complex, and most of the cool features I would never use anyway.

So, I'm heading back to Sprint and a new Sanyo phone (Sanyo, IMHO, simply sets the standard for quality and performance in handsets - the menu is simple and elegant, and the phones work better than any I've ever used).

Not complaining here - the Cingular folks were v...

Did you by any chance get your phone on Monday? If so, horrible timing about the network.

*ignores the comment about sprint and bites his tongue*

good point. It always sucks when there's network issues, as they will never go away. It's just part of running such a complex thing. I feel SO bad for customers just coming on board for the first time in the midst of one. Leaves a really bad first impression ☚ī¸

Hey, just nosy....where are you at that the service wasn't so good?

The question is for Truman ,not the other 45,999,999 customers. đŸ¤Ŗ 😈

I had the phone for most of the 30 day trial period, and was in the DC metro area the whole time.

My disappoinment was definitely more focused on the phone than the network. I was actually *very* impressed with in-building coverage in DC.

Actually--- If you wanted to be a smart a$$, we had 46,000,000 customers before he signed up, so if we do a little thing called math you'd see that if he came and went, we'd still have 46,000,000...

Actually....... 46,000,000 is just a rough estimate of the amount of subscribers Cingular now has. Cingular does not have EXACTLY 46,000,000 subscribers. They could have 46,421,389 for all you know smarty pants. Also, for all you know, he could have been a subscriber when the total was estimated in the first place... After all, he did say he tried out the 30-day trial. Who knows when he had his service.

The point is.. Don't go splitting hairs because you got a stick up your a$$ 😛

Well I'm glad YOU are keeping count. But thanks for the compliment, bcuz unlike you I'd rather be a smart a$$ than an a$$hole. It was a legitimate question with a little humor til your response.

And by the way, I have 3 Cingular accounts, not that YOU care. I would have been be most intereste...

Yeah...the coverage may not be very good in your area.

All carriers have their crappy spots. Go with whatever works best for you 😉
