Fee Question

I know that many carriers offer incoming text messages for free, like T-Mobile offers 50 free incoming & ATTWS(when they were still around) offer UNLIMITED incoming...

With Cingular you have to pay 5 cents per incoming message? Whats up with that? Are they just being greedy?

Did you say won't switch, You better get some things clear in your head, ATTWS is DEAD, you have an expired "LEGACY" package from Cingular, ATTWS is gone.Cingular will let you FOR NOW, stay on the package you currently have,BUT Don't think you will stay on for a long time, cuz they ain't gonna happen.

Cingular has the RIGHT to switch you off your plan with a comparable plan, they just take you off of contract when they do it.Better get with the program and switch while the offers are good, down the road, they won't as nice We are averaging 600.000 migratio...

Only after two years, to account for the people who just started service after the merger.

If he doesn't want to go to cingular, he can't stay with at&T for long, either he can go with cingular or somewhere else...frankly, It won't hurt my feelings. (not that I don't like you, Matty 😉 I just don't really care if someone decides to leave, it doesn't keep me up at night.)

incoming txt mesgs only cost 10 cents for incoming if you dont have a package. cingular also has MORE txt msgs in the packages then the old aws ones, by almost double. for about a buck cheaper or more. and with packages, your incoming and extra msg fee is cheaper. with aws extra msgs were still 10 cents. so yes, you do pay for txting....but you get a better deal if you have a package. trade offs for everything.

Actually, the T-Mobile 50 free incoming is a grandfathered feature and is no longer available for new activations, or rate plan changes. However, T-Mobile does offer the best value in the industry for text messaging.
