ATT does not make phones.

They offer one year upgrades in the store only.

The policy changed on this just recently, we can only do a 1 year contract for brand new customers, upgrades have to do 2 years or no contract.

This is the kind of stuff that makes customers mad, 2 reps saying 2 different things. This is why it is so, so, so important to always have an account notated with the employees first name, and ID # in the notes.

Customers don't like 2 different stories!!!

I don't think so, and if so, you really aren't saving much, you should just buy it at retail cost. You would only really have savings on a 2 year.

I work for an AT&T dealer and we have been told NOT to do any 1 year contracts. Even if a corporate store can still do it, the difference in the 2 year discount and the one year is $75 and higher depending on the phone. Here is an example:

Motorola V3xx
-------------
2 year price - $150
1 year price - $225
No Contract - $300

*NOTE - All come with $50 mail-in rebate

I don't know if you use POS II, but we can't even select one year contracts anymore on upgrades.

You might want to re-read the fine print on that mail in rebate form. The mail in rebate in most markets is available on with a new 1 or 2 year service agreement. They have no obligation to give you a rebate if you do not sign an agreement.
