i was thinking about getting the w580 but now im not sure i should get it from hearing about the cracked keys. should i stick with the w580 or look for something else?

Both or good devices, but I would stick with sony. It is way better for multimedia and comes with more in the box.

Cell One posted the following on the Dealer Desktop under Product News:
Sony Ericsson recently announced that select early production W580i handsets may be susceptible to hairline cracks appearing in the keypads. The “cracking†issue is mostly prevalent with customers who are heavy text messengers, but may be seen by any customer who applies frequent excessive pressure to the keys.
The majority of Dobson W580i handsets are not early production runs, but should you have a customer that does have a cracked keypad, please follow the proper procedures.

I'd have to say: a737. The w580i's keys crack, and it'd be considered out of warranty (I know this because I'm an at&t warranty rep). That's why I got rid of mine. The a737 is the better choice.

Device issue, thats why authorized dealers or Core stores do not sell the white one...

It is NOT just the white ones. My area manager had a grey one and it had this problem. I haven't had many complains about it, but it is definitely NOT just the white ones. We only sold the grey ones with Cell One.
