I currently have cell one and refuse to give up my unlimited plan. I recently bought an unlocked nokia n75 off of ebay. I have everything working on it (voice and data). I was wondering if i can get 3G internet since i have a 3G capabile phone. Would i need it at&t sim card or am i stuck with edge data?

You would only be able to access Edge services ,you need to update your sim card to At&t to get 3g speeds .

I would almost have to say that they would not give you an AT&T SIM card unless you had AT&T service. That almost wouldn't even make sense. If you're not on an AT&T plan, why would they give you an AT&T SIM?

The answer is NO. AT&T sim cards will not activate on a Cell One account. Even though they are one company now, it will take a while for everything to convert. Cell One and AT&T have seperate systems. If you want to use 3G, you MUST switch to AT&T. I understand your resistance to migrate and lose the unlimited plan, but everyone will have to migrate eventually. It will be a couple years max. They will let all the Cell One contracts expire and give you a choice of migrating to AT&T or going elsewhere. No national carrier offers unlimited minutes.

There are some that do, but they charge a lot of money.

Not really.

Cell One (Dobson) actively sold an unlimited plan. If you walk into a Sprint store they do not advertise or offer an unlimited everything plan.

I heard that Cell One already stocks AT&T produts, but I recently heard a radio commercial advertising Cell One having a sale. Their website still has the Cell One branded phones/plans up for grabs. I don't get it? And I didn't know AT&T could force migration from Cell One if the customer did not make other plan/feature changes.

AT&T can EVENTUALLY force migration once your original service agreement has expired. AT&T is required by law to honor your current service agreement so long as said customer makes no changes.

Advertisments are scheduled weeks in advance. I have heard and seen ads for Cell One's holiday promotion up to Christmas Eve. As for the website, it redirects to AT&T now.
