Hi everyone ...My wife is trying to decide on a new smartphone and she has narrowed her choices to the Blackberry 8310 and the Blackjack II. She wants to be able to check her email but is not a big email user. She wants a great speakerphone and call clarity/reception is priority #1. She would like the phone that has a great user interface and easily accessable internet. So, which phone could meet most if not all criteria ? Thanks for your inputs .....

Both are great devices. Both are on sale right now as well. You can get them for $100 after $100 rebate. Both have identical prices for data plans. It will come down to personal preference. I would suggest that she go to a store and demo each of them.

Thanks....She has played with both of them at a store and really likes the both. She just wants some user opinions. I think the device that is easier to use may be her choice. Any opinions ??

Sorry. Personally, I think the Blackberry is slightly easier to use than the BJ II. I prefer the pearl ball to the jog wheel. If you want a definitive answer, I say she should get the Curve.

If I had to choose I would say get the Curve. I think the blackerry is easier to use personally. The curve is a great phone, and I love mine. The speakerphone is very loud, and the phone has awsome service. The only advantage I think off the top of my head is the BJII takes video, and the curve doesn't. Also the previous post was wrong. The unlimited data for the Curve is 29.99 and 39.99 for the BJII.

Both are good and both would support operamini. One place where the bj has the advantage is that it is 3g so it has faster internet(assuming its available in your area) I'd say from an overall stance the blackberry is better. It gets great service, has great clarity, and is very easy to use. One nice thing, is it isn't as laggy as a windows based device that tends to freeze up.

As much as I dislike most Samsung phones, I'll have to go with the Blackjack II on this one because on Blackberries, if the trackballs stop working, you're screwed. Trust me, I get many complaints about Pearls, Curves, etc... daily.

The only issues that I've heard with the trackballs is that they can get dirty and that people have a slight problem with cleaning them. I hope that the complaints that you get about the Blackberries aren't MAJOR, I haven't had a phone yet that didn't have an issue or two. Everyone's opinion is very valuable !! Thanks again ....

The Blackjack II has 3g and over 100MB of memory, and video record. You should take that into consideration, too!
