ETF Charge/Late Payment???
I have a friend who has at&t. She was 2 months behind on making her payments due to financial difficulties (job loss) and today she got a bill showing an Early Termination Fee charge. I dont understand why they did that... she doesnt want to cancel the service, she just been having a hard time. I do not believe I have ever heard of another company charging this fee if you are late on payments... So i am assuming that she will have to start service with them again after she pays the balance?

She needs to call collections. They did this because they canceled her service for non-payment. She can make an arrangement with them that can undo the ETF.

tell her in the future that if she is having financial difficulties to call up and set up a payment plan before she has a past due balance too long. They will work with her but they HAVE to know before hand it isn't a companies job to know what your financial situation is.
