Does the North America Package still exist? (or anything like it)

Hello all.

I am a old blue customer who is on the America National plan, which all my phones have the North America Package. I got this as we call Canada a LOT and we all roam in Canada (especially me).

The thing is my phones are getting old and I would like to replace them. But I ABSLOUTLY need something like the North America Package. I thought I heard somewhere that it is still offered, but it is a retention issue and it has to come from high up. I actually heard that it is a add on which costs $0 due to retention and it allows for free roaming and LD. However I am totally fine paying for a package (as I pay 10 dollars per phone for it now)

I have also heard that Verizon offers some sort of package, which I haven't che...

Get an unlocked phone from ebay or wirelessimports.com

Getting some sort of feature code from "high up" is going to be more work then you can imagine.

You may want to check with ATT that they will even grandfather your plan. In our area we have been told that old "Blue" customers will be disconnected as of Feb. 19th as new ATT doesn't have to honor the "ATT Wireless" plans anymore. I have heard that there is something in the works for a North American plan for both Mexico and Canada. It's just rumor for now but you never know.

I have heard we are working on a USA-Canada plan, but nothing with Mexico right now. AT&T has a close relationship with Rogers (I believe Rogers was a Baby Bell)

They are working on additional items with Tel-Cel. They already have free roaming in border towns.

What about Bell of Canada? Don't they have a roaming agreement with them? I think we'll see a roaming/long distance agreement with Mexico before Canada. There are more Mexicans in the US then there are Canadians. What better way to get more customers then appeal to a gigantic culture that likes to keep in touch with family in their home country. Of course only legal citizens could use these plans. The illegal ones would use pre-paid and ATT wins either way.

You were good until the last two sentances.

A citizen who does not go through the proper channels to live and work in the US. I am not being political just stating the obvious. I did not say what country either. Non-Citizens who have not gone through the proper channels usually buy prepaid. As I said ATT wins either way. No disrespect to any immigrants implied.

And THAT'S why the illegal immigrant issue will never be rectified. "Because they pay cash."

Businees loves them. People whine about Wal Mart but illegals (That what they are no need for PC here) are "good for business" Amazing!

The extent to which folks "care" is governed exclusively by their own self-interest. I have seen precious little evidence to dispute that anywhere.
