...and all those monkeys know how to do is watch verizon and do what they do... 5 gig limit on internet and as of march 30th sms ppu will be .20 and mms ppu will be .30 cents.

why can't the at&t monkeys think for themselves? why do they limit themselves to the verizon wireless plans? when will they learn they aren't verizon? i guess none of the monkeys at at&t know how to think outside the verizon wireless box..............

Verizon is not the only companty to have this limit. At least we aren't marketing it as unlimited when it is not unlimited.

The new data plan is geared to stop people networking the aircards and abusing the PDA plans. On some sites I've been at some people hook the aircards to routers and have multiple computers hooked up. That and the people on different sites who continually put smartphone rate plans on their PDA's and then complain when they get a huge bill. ATT simplified the plans and made it totally easy for a customer to pick the right one for the device they own. They also eliminated commissions for most of us with all the chargebacks. I would suggest to anyone else reading this NOT to change to the new PDA plan if you use a good amount of texting. It's not much but the PDA with 1500 texts is now$45 in stead of the $40 it used to be with PDA max. A...

I think this is utter bullsh*t! I use a Blackjack for my job, that I use the data plan quite frequently. I love not having to worry if I'm going to exceed my limit; it's truly unlimited! That's what made AT&T so great, personally. To know that I'm now going to have to worry about my overages (if I have any) really is disappointing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the 5GB is a soft limit. If you reach or surpass it it gives them the flag to audit your usage and determine if your doing something against the rules. You won't be charged unless they determine you're doing something wrong.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but do you really think that you will use more then 5GB of data? It is also a soft limit. They can tell if you are using it for tethering or just normal web surfing. I have a BB Curve that I use all day long with web surfing and I have never gone over 60-70Mb. Check your latest bill to see where you are with data. I'm sure you're not going to go over. Trust me, I liked the "unlimited means unlimited" data plans too, but with so many people taking advantage of ATT's unlimited plans this was bound to happen.

yes. the 5GB limit is for laptop cards and tethering, not pda or blackberry plans.

Ahh...okay that makes sense. I just know that I heavily use Google Maps when I'm traveling (around 5 times a month) and sometimes stream live radio. I know all of these use a hefty amount of data, but I wasn't sure that it would top 5 GB.

Get a plan, and it's all gravy. I used to gripe about that with Verizon, and all I have to say is: Who the **** really uses 5GB, or more, of data on their cell phones?!!
