new phone unregistered sim

got the new phone from fedex...cingular's website says number is active. Sim is 'unregistered'. Do I need to activate the sim? I called cingular and they actually had a message saying they had to evacuate the building and to call back later. It's scary if they are taking calls for 46,000,000 people in one building....

They're not all in one building. 🙄 that was one call center.

Secondly, you did the right thing calling in to Customer service for this, they can probably fix it for you, or get you to tech to fix it. I personally know how to fix it, but I doubt you'll get me. xD

LOL!

That's kinda funny.

... but yeah, you have to activate the SIM card, which has been going kind of slowly today.

hey i've had this problem myself!!! over a week i waited and nothing happened!! than i went into the store and a nice rep called in and talked on the phone for an hour and managed to get the situation resolved!! basically its not goin to fix itself and you have to keep on knockin on many doors and tellin them you want it activated right this second!! if you dont manage to get it workin ina day or two ..return the phone and go with a different company.. thats what im' going to do cause when i did resovle the unregistered sim problem the phone worked horribly anyways.. so dont wait around just keep keep calling someone knows..
