Music phone for 10 year old/Yahoo music service
My 10 year old son wants a phone with an MP3 player. We subscribe to the Yahoo Music service and would like to use that to supply the music.
He will not use the phone for much else, but call clarity is important for me.
He likes the looks of the Samsung 737, but I think the Nokia 6126 makes more sense. Other contenders are the SonyEricson 300 & 580 and Nokia 6555.

The Samsung 737 is cool but I think he would enjoy the SE W580 better. The user interface and music tools are far superior on the SE. Plus the 737, like all Samsung phones use their proprietary headphone/charger jack. You basically cannot charge the phone and listen to music with your headphones at the same time. Also, give the Nokia 6555 a look at as well. It is a nice well-rounded performing phone with access to CV service.

Thank you for your prompt reply ygbhen.
What is CV service.

CV is Cellular Video. Basically he would be able to watch music videos, clips of cartoons & tv shows, and also have access to mobile radio for a fee. It really is a great feature but if you do not want to add anything else to your bill, I think the SE W580 would be the best choice. The only thing it lacks is CV but it still is the best music phone that AT&T has hands down.

But do you really want your 10-year-old sitting on his duff watching his phone? The Sony w580 is a pretty sweet phone with all its features, music and radio and such; I'd be nervous handing a kid a slider though, simply because I've seen too many people overextend their slides and break the phone.
The Nokia 6555 is a slick phone, though. In my experience, they're pretty tough.
