Gait/GSM, Need some help

In the middle of Dec. there are some posts in this forum that discuss how you can you use your GAIT phone on a GSM plan and you will not roam.

"Yep, those lovely gait phones can now benefit from the GSM nation plans. I set my sister up on it over thanksgiving while she was visiting. I'm pretty sure we have to select the technology as GSM/GAIT (as opposed to GSM) and enter the IMEI, ESN, and SIM, but then there should be no problems."

That is a direct quote to help describe what I am talking about. I called CS numerous times and tried to explain this to them and they say I will be charged roaming fees and this does not work. Can any one please help me out with this? The new GSM plans are cheaper but I like the coverage my nokia 6340i ...

Escalate. The reps you've spoken with probably just don't read.

Nothing special needs to be done to put the GAIT phone on a GSM plan... Just change the rate plan... If the rep says it's not possible... Escalate...

If they still give you a hard time... Tell them to go to CSP and under Product Pricing to search for Current GSM Nation Plan details...

Then for sweet satisfaction you can ask...

"Correct me if i'm wrong... But doesn't the first rule state: Effective 10/19/04 GAIT handsets are allowed on Nation Plans announced/created on or after 09/17/04 with GAIT Nation coverage area."
