Read this crazy article on the iPhone. I was gonna get a new guitar instead of the iPhone, but I'm reconsidering my actions now.

I doubt those military spec motorola phones on nextel can even do this!

One thing that the iPhone has is durability. I saw a stress test where they tried unsuccessfully to scratch the screen with keys. They also dropped it over and over on carpet, tile and a sidewalk. For a first attempt, Apple did a good job.

i saw that stress test too. PC World Magazine did it. I was impressed. I wanna stress test one for myself. But I can't afford that.

I dropped mine straight down on tile from about 4 feet, it hit hard, left a dent in the corner, phone still works flawlessly.

I have to call shenanigans.

I've seen way to many stories about how easy they are to break by simply dropping them or random typical accidents - which you can see this yourself by perusing the Mac Forums.

I seriously doubt the screen could take the multi-ton pressure of a semi even if the weight is, for the most part, evenly distributed - which would not truly apply here given the phone was ran over from end to end.

Hahhahahahaaa....I accept that his use of the word shenanigans is hilarious.

Just look up "iPhone test" on youtube.com. I'm not saying it's effing indestrucatble. There are gonna be some cases where it gets broken easily, but getting hit by a semi and living to tell the tale is no simple feat.

Meh, it could be a scam, but I doubt it. I think if it was a scam the guy wouldn't have jailbroken his phone. It would have been standard so that Apple would give him coverage/money for his story. But since it was jailbroken, they don't care.
