I hate them. I hate them all. We no longer carry ANY Cellular One devices or sim cards. Whenever someone comes in to renew or buy a replacement phone, I explain that Cell One is no more and they can either switch to AT&T or contacat customer care. Customer service still has phones available and will do contract renewals. Most of the stores are out of stock of everything Cell One. Some people refuse to deal with over the phone renewals. When I show them the AT&T plans, 75% of them say that they suck. They complain about no unlimited plans and the prices. In my area, the only postpaid services are Verizon and AT&T. Sprint is also available, but the coverage is limited the store in the mall. I'm not kidding. It sucks horribly. Verizon and AT&T ...

Smart advice. The customer did nothing except pay their bill. Now they are forced to deal with services and pay schedules they did not sign up for originally. It's not thier fault.

THe OP needs to find a non public job dude. A cubicle job might be better.

No, I don't need a desk job; I just need people to realize that buyouts happen and when they do, changes happen. I have had dozens of people ask me the stupidest question(s) ever since the buyout:

Why?

Why did AT&T buy Cell One?

Why did Cell One let AT&T buy them?

How the hell am I supposed to answer that? Here is how I do it:

AT&T and Cell One agreed to the buy out because it is good business!

I have told people that because it is true. Cell One was in the dumps and AT&T wanted to add more coverage and subscribers.

As for the unlimited plan, AT&T has not done away with it; they just don't have it. Cell One is no more. If you want unlimited minutes, go to one of the smaller regional carriers and get it. Then, complain w...

AT&T is still bending over for people from AT&T Wireless. I've come to doubt if they'll ever force people off those plans.

Very similar ones. I don't like to rant a lot. Mostly, I just talk about industry happenings and interactions, but I have been dealing with this for two months straight and I got fed up.

If you think that is bad wait, I can't wait for Feb. 19th in our area. That is the scheduled deactivation day for all existing ATT Wireless customers Analog or GSM. Explaining that to the hundreds of pissed off customers will be awesome. If anyone has anymore news about what will happen when the deactivation happens let me know so I can request off that day. 😁

Yeah, we were told that Feb. 19th was the day. As of Jan. 21st ATT was allowed to discontinue service to any existing ATT Wireless customers by the FCC without the customers being able to litigate. Our RAE said our area was changing on the 19th. I'll wait and see, but I know that ATT wants those plans off their network. They don't want to give service for plans that they don't make money on, like unlimited calling, texting, and internet for $99 that ATT Wireless used to give out.

WOW what a lair. Feb 19 is the day new ATT is allowed to taken down AMP/TDMA service. ATTWS(blue) GSM will always work on the new ATT GSM network. GSM is GSM which is GSM all over the world. The only difference between GSM is the phone and what bands it supports.

I have no idea how long the new ATT will allow the older blue customers to keep there plans but I have a felling it will be forever because ATT does not want a mass exudes of customers over night as that would destroy there stock price as most of the old ATTWS customers more than likely would jump ship to T-Mobile which roams on ATT GSM network just fine in most areas if you seem edit your Moto phone to enable network selection.

Our minute plans are the same except we have rollover. The data is now $5 to $10 for unlimited data and/or PDA/Blackberry plans. Our data is still not as cheap as Tee Mow Bile but we're getting there. I just checked Verizons site and it looks like PDA/Blackberry is $40 a month for access where we are at $30 for PDA/Blackberry. The text plans are virtually the same with some small differences. Is IM included in Verizon message bundles? I didn't see it on their site. I'm not down on Verizon anyways. They will probably match ATT price on data sooner rather then later. Rollover on our minutes is our biggest difference from Verizon.

LOL Verizon $40 PDA plan includes unlimited "In" messaging and 1000 SMS. Verizon also offers an unlimited BB E-Mail package for $20 which includes no SMS at all nor web surfing.

All SMS/MMS packages include free "IN" SMS/MMS.

ATT has it gimmicks with Rollerover and Verizon has it with free "In" gimmicks.

you're an agent right?

here in western va (not wva) people used to have the UN plan with suncom, but once the tdma towers were turned off, at&t made a regional compensation UN plan, just for old suncom-cingular-now at&t customers.

there may be a compensation UN plan out there for cell one dobson folks coming in to your store.

asked your RAE about it?

Yes, I have. There is NO MORE unlimited plan. AT&T is NOT making exceptions or changing their plans or making "compensation" plans. Cell One is dead and so is the unlimited plan.

I knoe that sounds rude. I didn't mean for it to sound that way, but it does.
