CelluarOne (Dobson) isn't switching user's over to AT&T
I spoke with a Supervisor today regarding why I couldn't buy myself a AT&T Blackberry and use it on the network since CellularOne has switched over to AT&T. The Supervisor says that those CellularOne customers who are on special plans through CellularOne ($50 or $99.95 unlimited plans) can't upgrade (not even buy their own phone)and use it on the AT&T network because AT&T is keeping CellularOne user's on their OLD LEGACY system. AT&T hopes that by not allowing CellularOne customers to upgrade their phones will result in them leaving their cheap plans and coming over to more expensive AT&T plans. I think I said when this happened (att buying them) that they will not allow the plans to continue. Well I guess I was kind of right.

Oh and why isn't it legal. They want you to buy an att phone sign a contract and get on one of their plans? The nerve of them.
But really they own the network now and do not have to renew any of the old plans period!

Yesterday, I was informed by my area rep that customers with the Unlimited Plan (Statewide of Nationwide) were going to begin getting letters soon that basically limits the unlimited plan. According to my rep, it will say something about the unlimited plan costing the company and if they go over a certain amount of minutes (I assume they mean more than once), their account will be cancelled. No ETFs will apply. Before they cancel the account, they will offer the customer to migrate to AT&T.
As for upgrading, you CAN still upgrade your current Cell One account...for now. You have to get a Cell One phone though. Your best bet is to check with Cell One customer care. I have had dozens of customers come in within the last couple weeks who had...

Exactly what I said about these plans when att said they were buying them and people asked waht about the unlimited plans!
